Pre-K Class

 (3 years to 4 years)

Welcome to the Pre-K Class at The Village. This program will support your child's growth by providing an interactive setting where comprehension, recognition and communication skill develop tremendously. Our teachers are dedicated to providing quality and consistent care for our 3 & 4 Year Old Students. Our Pre-K class is limited to 6 students per teacher. This allows us to exceed state standards, offer a loving and nurturing environment to our students and allows our teachers to enjoy their work day. They provide a loving, nurturing and educational environment. To ensure a smooth transition from home to our program and back home again, our teacher and assistant teachers will communicate with you on an individual basis. The Pre-K room is a fun and  cheerful place for children to spend their day. A warm and safe environment and positive interactions foster a child's sense of trust and self-esteem. Classroom space and materials are organized to support the child's need to explore, to discover, and to be independent. Children are encouraged to participate in daily routines to develop self-help skills and to build their confidence in decision making. Activities provide repeated opportunities with sensory experiences that help strengthen and develop large and small muscles, hand-eye coordination and promote thinking and communication skills. Teachers reinforce positive behaviors, set limits, and are consistently available to support the children's conflicting need for independence and comfort.

In addition to well planned activities, our teachers rely on The Creative Curriculum for Pre-K to ensure that all areas of your child's educational development are being met. The Creative Curriculum encourages learning through exploration and discovery and enables children to develop confidence, creativity, and lifelong critical thinking skills. It is based on 38 objectives for development and learning, which are fully aligned with the Head Start Child Development and Early Learning Framework as well as early learning standards for every state. It also contains guidance for working with all learners, including advanced learners and children with disabilities. Several important focuses of this curriculum are that it addresses all the important areas of learning, from social-emotional and math to technology and the arts, and incorporates them throughout every part of every day.
